YMCA Leaders Receive 40 Under Forty Honors
Springfield, MA (March 11, 2015) – Two YMCA leaders are being honored for their accomplishments as young professionals in the greater Springfield region.
Sarah Williams, YMCA of Greater Springfield Board Chair, and Andrew Melendez, Executive Director of the Agawam YMCA Wellness & Family Program Center have been selected by Business West Magazine to join the 40 Under Forty Class of 2015.
Williams, VP of Global Capital Risk at Mass Mutual, has served on the Y board since 2012. Currently in her second year as chair, Williams has played an instrumental role in the Y’s success in recent years.
Melendez joined the YMCA team in 2014 in conjunction with the opening of the Agawam Y – the newest YMCA of Greater Springfield family center.
“I often express the pride I have in the leadership of our organization,” says YMCA of Greater Springfield President & CEO Kirk Smith. “But when other organizations take notice of their extraordinary talents and commitment to our community, it takes on a whole new meaning. I congratulate both Sarah and Andrew on this much-deserved honor.”
40 Under Forty is a celebration of 40 young business and civic leaders in Western Mass. Candidates are nominated for their professional achievements, community leadership and volunteerism.
