“The Y is Different” When you join the Y, you’re more than just a “health club” member. You become a part of a tradition over 150 years old of “building strong kids, strong families and strong communities”. As a member of the YMCA of Greater Springfield, your membership dollars go directly back into the community. The fees are used to provide quality programs that build the spirit, mind and body of all who participate. The YMCA of Greater Springfield provides over $400,000 in financial aid and scholarship dollars for all ages who cannot afford its programs, school age childcare, and camps. The YMCA helps area non-profit agencies and schools by assisting with their fund raising efforts, sponsoring homework help centers, educational programs, and more. We have developed many partnerships with area schools, agencies and senior centers, helping those from infants to seniors.
As a group, our members donate many hours and dollars to help those in need. We have collected Coats for Kids, food for the Survival Center and much much more. When you are part of the Y “family”, we are there to help you if the need arises. From helping those with cancer, providing passes for the families who sponsor Fresh Air Fund kids and offering memberships to relocated Hurricane Katrina refugees, the YMCA of Greater Springfield is there to extend a hand. At the YMCA, your membership means a lot – you are part of a very important effort to improve the lives of those in your surrounding community.
The value of a YMCA membership is well worth the price and the benefits to you and your community are limitless.
