The Community Services Branch provides YEAR ROUND child care, camping family and teen programs to greater Springfield residents.
Early Childhood Development:
The Community Services branch is proud to offer an NAEYC accredited, DEEC state licensed child development program for infants, toddlers and preschoolers ages 4 weeks-5 years @ the 275 Chestnut Street location. Click here to view child care page
School Age enrichment and child care programs
The Y offers year round licensed child care @ 13 locations in Chicopee and Springfield. Program hours range from before school care starting at 6:00 am to after school care until 6:00 pm. Click here to view our school age page
Teen Programs
Teens & youth ages 11 and up may participate in one of 3 Y drop in programs. Activities include homework tutoring, computers, art & drama, sports, and youth leadership programs. Click here to view our teen programs

Family programs
The Y provides FREE parent/family workshops throughout the year as well as FUN family events. We have 3 licensed social workers available to meet with parents and assist with job search, housing, food or fuels assistance and family counseling. Click here to view our family programs

New Program
YMCA Teen Parent Program
This program is designed for teenage parents who dropped out of High School. The YMCA provides transportation for the teen parent and their child to the YMCA for child care and parent life skill classes and to MCDI where the teenager can complete their GED. Home visits, field trips and 3 generation family programs are included in the program design.
