The YMCA of Greater Springfield provides a safe, fun environment for children to continue learning and developing during out-of-school periods. During Before-School programs, the YMCA provides a safe environment for children from 6:30 until the start of the school day. Breakfast is provided and children can choose from a variety of activities. During Afterschool Programs, we provide snack and homework assistance. We also provide age appropriate activities each day, including sports, outdoor play, arts and crafts, science, cooking, story time, and much more. This program begins at the end of the full school day and runs until 6:00 pm.

All of the YMCA of Greater Springfield School-Age Child Care Programs are licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) and are mandated to uphold all of the rules and regulations pertaining to school-age care licensing.
Schedule and Fees
We operate throughout the school year. Your child may attend two, three, four or five days per week.

- Parents who have an EEC Slot cannot sign up for part time care
- Parents who have a voucher may sign up for part time care only if their voucher is a part time voucher (no more than 6 hrs a day/no vacation/no full days)
You may be eligible for a $5 weekly discount by signing up for a semimonthly or monthly scheduled payment from your Visa, MasterCard, checking or savings account.
Registration is accepted on a first come, first served basis. Space is limited. Completed registration forms and an initial fee of one week’s tuition is due to register. Completed registration forms must be received by August 15th for all students who will be starting the program on the first day of school. Space is limited so early registration is encouraged.

A typical day might include:
6:00 – 7:30am Drop Off Time

Both Before-School and School’s Out are designed to allow the children the opportunity to relax and have fun!
During school vacation weeks, full day programs are available for an additional fee. Programs run in Springfield & Chicopee. Field trips offered during these weeks will be an additional cost.
Snow Delays and Cancellations
When school is canceled due to inclement weather the program will operate from the YMCA from 7:30am to 6:30pm. No breakfast or lunch will be served. If school closes early due to weather, there will not be a School’s Out Program.
Families enrolled in School’s Out can join a YMCA Family Center at a reduced rate. The Joiner Fee will be waived and the monthly membership fee will be reduced by 50%.
